Regulated one-day Qualsafe qualification with catastrophic bleeding training.
Course Description
Book the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF), an Ofqual-regulated qualification for people who may need to act as an emergency first aider at work. This practical one-day course is delivered by DTMK Training Services at our Bletchley training centre. It runs from 09:30 to 17:30 and costs £90 per learner. The price includes training, assessment, course materials, Qualsafe registration and certification following successful completion. COURSE CONTENT • The role and responsibilities of a first aider • Assessing an incident and casualty • Adult CPR and safe use of an AED • Choking • An unresponsive casualty, recovery position and seizures • External bleeding and hypovolaemic shock • Minor injuries, burns and scalds CATASTROPHIC BLEEDING TRAINING DTMK also includes Qualsafe’s optional 30-minute life-threatening catastrophic bleeding session. Learners practise wound packing and the use of improvised and manufactured tourniquets with appropriate training equipment. Learners who successfully complete this additional training and assessment will have text added to their Qualsafe certificate acknowledging these skills. ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATION This is an assessed, regulated qualification - not an attendance-only course. Learners must attend the entire course and successfully complete four practical assessments and a 15-question multiple-choice assessment. The pass mark is 11 out of 15. Successful learners receive the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF), valid for three years. IMPORTANT INFORMATION • Learners must be at least 14 on the first day. • Bring valid photographic identification. • Attend the full course from 09:30 to 17:30. • Practical training and assessment take place at floor level. • Wear suitable clothing and flat footwear. We will discuss possible reasonable adjustments in confidence and within the qualification requirements. Employers should select training following an appropriate workplace first-aid needs assessment.

PAYMENT • Places on scheduled public courses must be paid for in full when booking. • Commercial, corporate and private group bookings may be invoiced with 14-day payment terms unless otherwise agreed in writing. • Invoices must be paid by the due date shown. • Qualifying overdue commercial invoices may incur interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. ATTENDANCE AND PARTICIPATION • Learners must attend the entire course, including every required session. • Late arrival, early departure or absence may prevent a learner from completing the course or receiving certification and may result in exclusion without a refund, subject to the full terms and conditions. • First aid courses include practical activities that may require learners to kneel or lie on the floor. Suitable clothing and flat footwear should be worn. • Learners undertaking regulated qualifications must meet the stated entry requirements and demonstrate the required knowledge and practical competence. • Valid photographic identification must be presented where required for a regulated qualification. ACCESSIBILITY AND REASONABLE ADJUSTMENTS Please contact DTMK as early as possible if an injury, health condition, disability, learning need, literacy or language need, or another barrier may affect participation or assessment. We will consider reasonable-adjustment requests in confidence and in accordance with the relevant qualification and awarding-organisation requirements. Requests made shortly before a course will still be considered, although it may not always be possible to put every adjustment in place at short notice. CANCELLATIONS AND TRANSFERS Cancellation and transfer requests must be made in writing and will be handled in accordance with the full terms and conditions linked above. CERTIFICATION • Qualification certificates are issued only after all required training and assessments have been completed successfully. • Attendance certificates for non-regulated courses are issued only where this is stated in the relevant course description. • Replacement certificates may incur an administration or awarding-organisation fee.
