The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) is a regulated qualification for people who work with, look after or have responsibility for infants and children. This blended-learning option provides the same qualification as the traditional two-day classroom course while reducing classroom attendance to one practical day. How the course works Learners complete approximately six hours of Qualsafe e-learning before attending one classroom day at Whaddon Way Church in Milton Keynes. The classroom session concentrates on practical training, skills development and assessment. Topics include paediatric CPR and defibrillation, choking, the recovery position, seizures, bleeding and shock, fractures, head and spinal injuries, burns, asthma, meningitis, febrile convulsions, allergic reactions and anaphylaxis. Important e-learning requirement The Qualsafe e-learning must be completed in full before the classroom session begins. Learners who have not completed all of the online learning will not be eligible to attend the practical training and will need to transfer to another available date. Your place and payment will be confirmed when you book. E-learning access will normally be issued approximately four weeks before the practical date. If you book after the e-learning window has opened, access will normally be provided within 24 hours. Assessment and certification All formal practical and theory assessments take place during the classroom session. Learners who successfully complete the online learning, classroom training and assessments will receive the Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF). The qualification is valid for three years. Before booking Learners must be at least 14 years old on the date of the practical training. The classroom session includes practical work at floor level. Please tell DTMK before attending if you have an injury, medical condition or additional need that may require a reasonable adjustment. Comfortable clothing and flat, practical footwear are recommended. Public courses are held at Whaddon Way Church in Milton Keynes. Full joining information will be provided after booking.
