Day Course
At DTMK Training Services, we believe that first aid should be for everyone, regardless of age. Our Family First Aid course brings together parents, grandparents, teenagers and young people to learn the same vital life-saving skills side by side.
This friendly and practical session builds confidence to deal with everyday emergencies at home, on the road or out in the community. Designed and delivered by qualified teachers and experienced first aid trainers, it is a hands-on, inclusive experience suitable for all ages.
Successful participants will:

Recognise when someone needs help and keep themselves safe

Perform CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) confidently

Manage choking, bleeding and shock

Treat burns, bumps and other minor injuries

Respond to common medical emergencies
This course is internally certified by DTMK Training Services and is based on the same high standards used within our regulated programmes. Sessions are relaxed, supportive and suitable for families with children aged 10 and above, although younger participants may also join with supervision.
By the end of the course, participants will have the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to provide immediate first aid and potentially save a life.

Intended audience
This course is designed for families and individuals who want to learn practical first aid skills together in a friendly and supportive environment. It is ideal for parents, grandparents, teenagers and young people who wish to feel confident helping in an emergency, whether at home, on the road or in the community.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course. Participants should be comfortable taking part in light practical activity, including practising some skills at floor level. The course is suitable for families with children aged ten and above, although younger participants may attend under supervision.
Other course requirements
Due to the practical nature of this course, Learners should wear appropriate clothing and footwear, e.g. trousers and flat footwear.
Requalification requirements
This qualification is valid for a period of 3 years. The Learner must successfully retake the qualification on or before the certificate expiry date to remain qualified.
Key Qualification Information
• Practical assessment – 4 completed throughout the course
Learners must complete all assessments in the unit successfully within the registration period to achieve the qualification. The maximum period to achieve this qualification, including any referrals is 4 weeks.
