Would you know how to provide effective first aid in an emergency?

The Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a responsibility to provide first aid in activity-based environments. It equips learners with the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond to a wide range of situations, from life-threatening illnesses to minor injuries.
Successful candidates will:

Practise assessing and managing an incident in an activity setting

Learn how to deliver safe, prompt and effective first aid

Demonstrate the treatment of a variety of conditions, ranging from serious medical emergencies to minor injuries

This qualification forms part of the QA First Aid suite of qualifications. The qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of:

Intended audience

This qualification is for people who have a specific interest or responsibility in voluntary and community activities such as sports.

Entry requirements
​
Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of training and be able to perform practical tasks at floor level. There are no other formal entry requirements, but we strongly recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

Other course requirements
​
Due to the practical nature of this course, Learners should wear appropriate clothing and footwear, e.g. trousers and flat footwear.
Requalification requirements
​
This qualification is valid for a period of 3 years. The Learner must successfully retake the qualification on or before the certificate expiry date to remain qualified.

Assessment methods:
• Theory assessment/multiple choice question paper:
1 x 16 question paper (minimum score 11)
1 x 30 question paper (minimum score 21)
• Practical assessment – 6 completed throughout the course
Learners must complete all assessments in both units successfully within the registration period to achieve the qualification. The maximum period to achieve this qualification, including any referrals is 6 weeks.
