Course Description
Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to ensure that staff receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. Having suitable first aid provision is both a legal duty and an essential safeguard for the wellbeing of employees. The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) is designed for those who wish to act as a workplace first aider. Learners gain the skills and confidence to manage a range of injuries and medical emergencies, provide safe and prompt care, and understand their responsibilities under current regulations. As a regulated qualification, employers can be confident they are meeting legal obligations without needing further due diligence checks. The content is based on guidance from the Resuscitation Council UK and a panel of experts in emergency medical care. What you will learn • Roles and responsibilities of a first aider • CPR and defibrillation • Managing an unresponsive casualty and the Recovery Position • Choking, bleeding and shock • Burns, scalds and minor injuries • Fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries • Seizures and Epilepsy • Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Stroke and Heart Attack This course aligns fully with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) First Aid at Work syllabus. Who the course is for Ideal for those with responsibility for first aid at work, or in voluntary and community settings, where they may be required to respond to a range of first aid situations. Entry requirements Learners must be at least 14 years old and able to perform practical tasks at floor level. A minimum of Level 1 literacy and numeracy is recommended. Course requirements Due to the practical nature of the course, learners should wear suitable clothing and flat footwear. Attendance at all three training days is mandatory to achieve the qualification. Requalification This qualification is valid for three years. To remain qualified, learners must retake the course before the expiry date on their certificate.

No liability for travel, accommodation, or other costs If venues fail to provide accessibility or risk assessments, DTMK may cancel or postpone Certification Certificates issued only when courses/assessments are successfully completed Community course certificates issued to all attendees Replacement certificates may incur an admin fee
