Did you know that the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines state that employers should ensure their first aiders remain competent to perform their role? It is strongly recommended that workplace first aiders undertake annual refresher training to maintain their skills and confidence.

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (Annual Refresher) (RQF) has been specifically designed to allow qualified first aiders to update their knowledge and practise essential first aid skills every year until their full requalification training is required.

Successful candidates will:

Refresh their knowledge of core first aid principles

Practise the safe, prompt and effective administration of first aid in realistic scenarios

Reinforce their understanding of the role and responsibilities of a workplace first aider

Regain confidence in dealing with emergency situations in the workplace

Intended audience
​
This qualification is predominantly for qualified first aiders who have a specific interest or a responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to be able to provide first aid to people they are caring for when dealing with an emergency.

Entry requirements
​
Learners must hold a First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification. Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of training and be able to perform practical tasks at floor level. There are no other formal entry requirements, but we strongly recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

Other course requirements
​
Due to the practical nature of this course, Learners should wear appropriate clothing and footwear, e.g. trousers and flat footwear.
Requalification requirements
​
This qualification is valid for 1 year. The Learner should retake the qualification before the certificate expiry date.
​
The Learner should retake their primary first aid at work qualification before the 3-year expiry date to maintain the sequence of training recommendations issued by the Health and Safety Executive
